Brownies

This recipe uses Midtown Mix Chocolate Cake Base, be sure to check out other recipes that use this base as well!

You provide:

Supplies & Equipment:

  • 8” x 8” baking dish

  • Bowl and whisk, microwave

  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil that over laps the edges of the pan

Ingredients:

  • 6oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (if eating dairy free, try dark chocolate or other vegan chocolate chips)

  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 8 pieces

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350°F, cut parchment paper /aluminum foil to fit into cake pan. This recipe will require a 30 minute rest after the batter is prepared to let the flour hydrate.

Step 1:

Add chocolate chips to butter in microwave safe bowl/ measuring cup and microwave at 30 second increments, stirring each time until chocolate is completely melted. Set aside

Step 2:

Whisk eggs and vanilla together, then add Midtown Mix Chocolate Cake Mix and stir until combined

Step 3:

Pour in melted chocolate mixture and mix until combined.

Step 4:

Pour into prepared pan and let rest for 30 minutes and bake at 350°F for 45-55 minutes until brownies are set. Let brownies cool for 2 hours before lifiting out of pan by paper/foil

Tips and Ideas:

Serve immediately, brownies can be cooled and stored in an airtight container and kept at room temperature for a few days.
