Are these items really Gluten-Free/Dairy-Free?

Alison was diagnosed with Celiac Disease when she was 15 and has spent the last few decades optimizing her gluten free baking recipes. Because of the permits currently in place and labeling requirements, these items cannot be labeled as “Gluten-free” but rest assured, these are foods that are carefully made so she and others can feel safe eating them.

All our mixes are made without dairy ingredients and many of our recipes are already dairy-free. Some of our recipes currently use dairy-based ingredients, but we’re working on testing out dairy-free options. If you want to try out a recipe with a dairy-free substitution, we’d love to hear how it goes! If your recipe doesn’t turn out, we’ll be happy to replace your mix with a new one so you can try one of the other options!

What if I don’t like Gluten-Free Food?

If you don’t need to eat gluten-free, great for you, we’re jealous! However, our mixes and their versatility is unique - most mixes make at least 3 different recipes that have been tested to be easy and consistently successful. Many of these recipes can absolutely pass for traditional, gluten-containing items and are confirmed crowd pleasures, even among people who regularly eat gluten.

Where can I get Midtown Mix kits/baked goods?

If you are in the Sacramento area, we can arrange delivery or pick up of kits or pre-made baked goods. If you are elsewhere in California, we can ship our kits and mixes. We are currently working on optimizing our pre-baked items for shipping and will update the shop when we are confident that these can be shipped while maintaining quality. Based on our current health permits, we are not able to ship outside of California.

We will also be selling at local Farmers Markets, check out our schedule below!
